Harp Festival Session 37 - Special Categories

Harp Festival Special Category Registration Fee – $15.00
Please register for special categories ONCE (meaning one member of the group registers).

Register GUESTS for each additional member of the group. Concerto participants do not need to register their accompanist as a participant even though an accompanist is required.

Registration supports the cost of the event: judges, resources, materials, recognition, and other expenses related to Harp Festival.

Special Categories add $5 for each additional participant to cover materials and potential recognition (medals, etc).

Utah Harp Festival Session 37

This category has the time for 6 groups. Registration will close after six GROUPS have registered (not 6 individuals).

All special categories require one piece (second piece for ensemble or chamber for additional fee).

Harp Ensemble Policies (Link to Page)
- One harp per part (ie. a duet cannot become a quartet)

- Recommended that Instruments be presented as written, but reasonable substitutions allowed (ie. a piece written for a flute and harp can be performed with a violin and harp)

- Live piano accompaniment required

For Ensemble performances, please bring required harps to perform.

Ensembles and Chamber groups will be able to set up and practice during the lunch break.

Please arrive for your session 15 minutes early (if the previous session is still in progress, please wait in the hall)
- If you choose to bring your own instrument, please arrive earlier and tune your instrument in the hallway. You are responsible for the tuning of your own harp.
- Bring your instrument in and line it up appropriately with the other instruments. The Room Monitor will help differentiate your harp from those provided for general participants.
All harpists need to check in with the Room Monitor. The Room Monitor will take your music and let you know the performance order for that session.
Bring Music (original, if possible). Please mark measure numbers at least at the beginning of each line. This helps Judges provide specific feedback.
All harpists are welcome to warm up on their selected harp. If you do not bring your own harp, please only play the provided harps.
Please stay for the entire session and refrain from entering or exiting the room while harpists are performing.
Parents are welcome to record their own child. All posed photos must be taken AFTER the conclusion of the session.
After the session, please pick up your music and certificate from the Room Monitor.
